Local partnership work in the South West region

From 2008-2011, Clinks helped to develop local partnership work by voluntary organisations and public sector criminal justice agencies in every Probation Trust area in the South West region, working in partnership wherever possible with Local Support and Development Organisations such as Councils for Voluntary Service.

Examples of our work

In Gloucestershire, Clinks worked with GAVCA and the Gloucestershire Assembly (the county’s VCS forum) and other partners to help strengthen the strategic and operational links between Voluntary and Community Sector and statutory partners. This started with a multi-agency event in March 2010, and led to other projects like a Home Office funded Integrated Offender Management project in 2010-11. GAVCA now co-ordinates the VCS Safer and Stronger Strategy Network.

In Dorset, Clinks worked with a multi-agency steering group to organise an Open Space partnership event in Dorset in June 2010. The report of this event, plus a short executive summary, are available here. A Dorset-wide VCS Criminal Justice Forum is now co-ordinated by Bournemouth CVS.

In Bristol, Clinks worked with the Local Support and Development Organisation, Voscur, to convene a multi-agency criminal justice Assembly. Voscur has since co-ordinated the VCS Police and Crime Commissioner Network for Avon and Somerset (one of the Safer Future Communities networks).
