Mapping

Our regular mapping excersises look at the dynamic, wide ranging and vibrant voluntary sector that is delivering important services across a number of areas which we know support desistance from crime.

State of the sector 2015 cover

The results from our latest survey show that the sector continues to be diverse, that the needs of service users are increasing and becoming more complex, volunteering remains vital for the sector, and volunteer recruitment is increasing. Many organisations are relying on their reserves putting them at risk of closure.

Over the last four years Clinks have regularly surveyed voluntary sector organisations to collect information about how healthy the sector is, the role it is playing, and the wellbeing of service users. Results are anonymised and collated in order for us to publish our ‘state of the sector’ reports.

A snapshot from the North East: The voluntary sector working in criminal justice


In August 2013 Clinks and VONNE formed a partnership to better support the voluntary sector working in criminal justice and community safety across the North East. As one of our first actions, we undertook a mapping exercise to ascertain what services the voluntary sector is providing, and what support they need to thrive.

A snapshot from Wales: The voluntary sector working in criminal justice

 

In 2013, Clinks commissioned researchers from the University of South Wales to conduct a needs assessment of voluntary sector organisations operating in Wales. The aim of this research was to gather information that would help inform the development and delivery of Clinks’ services in Wales. This report presents the results of the needs assessment, collated through an on-line survey.
